Preamble
These terms and conditions of sale govern all relations between Les éditions de l’enclume and any person wishing to purchase one or more product(s) sold on this website. Their purpose is to define the rights and obligations of each party in the context of the online sale of goods offered by Les éditions de l’enclume to its customers.
All orders placed on our site imply the prior reading and acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale. Consequently, the consumer, referred to as the customer, acknowledges being fully informed that their agreement regarding the content of these terms and conditions of sale does not require a handwritten signature of this document.
1 – Magazine
Les éditions de l’enclume publishes the quarterly magazine La passion des couteaux in print format. To date, there is no digital offer for the magazine. The magazine can be ordered individually via the site, but a one- or two-year subscription is also available. A special issue is published once a year and is not included in the subscription.
Subscriptions are only registered and begin once payment is validated by the purchaser’s banking institution. It is not possible to stop a subscription and be reimbursed for the balance. Subscriptions do not automatically renew. To renew their subscription, the subscriber must then subscribe to a new subscription offer for the period they wish to subscribe for.
2 – Books
A section of the shop is reserved for the sale of books on cutlery in French and English.
3 – Prices
Prices are indicated in euros, all taxes included, excluding processing and shipping fees. For subscriptions, shipping fees are included.
For orders and subscriptions placed online, the prices invoiced at the time of the order and/or subscription are those in effect in the current issue of the magazine. Les éditions de l’enclume reserves the right to modify them at any time, particularly due to specific conditions related to certain economic factors: duties and taxes, evolution of postal delivery costs. Any change in the applicable VAT rate may be passed on.
4 – Orders
To place an order, the customer selects the product(s) they wish to purchase by clicking on its product page and then on “Add to cart”. It is possible to add a product directly to the cart by clicking on “Order”.
At any time and before payment, the customer can view a summary of the selected products by clicking on the “View cart” icon. You can then finalize your product selection and order them by clicking on “Proceed to checkout”.
All that remains is to fill out the billing and/or shipping form. Shipping costs are automatically calculated based on the destination address. At this step, you must choose your payment method and click on “Order” to finalize the order. A confirmation email will then be sent to you. The order will only be final upon validation of its payment by the customer. Upon order validation, it is registered and becomes irrevocable. The customer undertakes to keep the information contained in the order confirmation email.
5 – Payment Terms
Before paying for their order, the customer must read and accept the terms and conditions of sale by checking the box “I have read and accept the terms and conditions“.
5.1 – Online Payment by Credit Card
Our shop is equipped with the secure payment module Payplug. This system encrypts all your personal data (name, address, bank details) at the time of entry. During their transfer, it is impossible to read them (SSL encryption).
5.2 – Online Payment via PayPal
You can also choose to pay for your order via PayPal, a globally recognized secure payment method that prevents you from entering your bank details.
6 – Shipping
Les éditions de l’enclume undertakes to deliver the product(s) as soon as possible, regardless of the postal services managing the delivery. For informational purposes, it is specified that the usual delivery times for orders are one working week (excluding collective holiday periods) for France, except in cases of force majeure and out of stock. For international shipments, the postal service “international book and brochure shipments” offers no guarantee of delivery time.
The product(s) is/are delivered to the address indicated during the order process, provided that the customer accurately provides it and gives all necessary details for the proper delivery of their order.
The customer is invited to contact Les éditions de l’enclume for any questions or in case of a problem related to the delivery of their order, by email, accessible in the contact section of the site.
7 – Right of Withdrawal
According to the terms of Article L221-28 of the Consumer Code, you do not have the right of withdrawal. In accordance with current legislation, you have a period of fourteen (14) clear days to exercise your right of withdrawal without having to provide reasons or pay penalties, with the exception, where applicable, of return costs.
Refunds will be made within 30 days or less after receipt of your request and the returned product(s). The refund will be made either by credit to your bank account or by bank check addressed to the name of the customer who placed the order and to the billing address.
